A Traveller´s Prayer

I walk alone on paths far from home
Please hear me, One-eyed one
Protector of travellers and wanderers

The night crackles with light and booms
Sound echoing around
Thank you for your protection, Thor

Guard and give me strength
Justice stemming from me while I am away
Freedom I see in you, Tyr

Watch over my family while I am gone
Keep them safe from harm
Please hear this lady, Frigga

Prosperity and happiness
Joy of travel and boldness
Remind me of, Frey

Grant me keen eyes and hearing
The better to remember what I observe
Keep watching and guarding, Heimdall

Smiles and bright days
Recalled from my youth
You I always remember, lady Idun

Quick wits and guile
Harmless tricks or tricks set aright
In mischief I see your smile, Loki

Lastly for the words I will shape
Formed into poetry to remember
For this I thank you, Bragi

My cat cries out for me at night
I miss her as I miss you
But cannot forget, lady Freya
