A Viking Kid’s Poem          A Viking Kid’s Song MP3
Tune: „Oh cara mama mia“, Neapolitan Canzonetta, before1816
(also used for the children´s song "My hat it has three corners"

It’s great to be a Viking kid,
For it is plain to see,
There are a hundred gods
That I can call to me.

There are protective bind runes
That mommy carved for me,
That I can fling at monsters,
And set them all to flee.

Odin watches me in sleep,
And Frigga hears my dreams,
I wake in Sunna’s warm embrace,
And play in Thor’s great fields.

From Frey and Freyja I will learn,
Great Vanic mysteries,
And giants teach me 'bout the things
That were and used to be.

From dwarves I learn to forge and make,
From Norns I learn my fate,
And in the end, I know I have
To keep with Hel a date.

It’s great to be a Viking kid,
For it is plain to see,
I have a hundred gods
For watching over me.

A Viking Kid’s Song     (Song version)

It’s great to be a Viking kid,
For it is plain to see,
There are a hundred gods
That I can call to me.

There are protective bind runes
That mommy carved for me,
That I can fling at monsters,
And set them all to flee.

Odin watches over my sleep,
And Frigga hears my dreams,
I wake in Sunna’s embrace,
And play in Thor’s great fields.

From Frey and Freyja I`ll learn,
Great Vanic mysteries,
And giants teach me the things
That were and used to be.

From dwarves I learn to forge,
From Norns I learn my fate,
And in the end, I know I have
To keep with Hel a date.

It’s great to be a Viking kid,
For it is plain to see,
I have a hundred gods
For watching over me.
