Listen to Karl sing it: mp3

In the Valley
To the tune of "Kintail" as performed by The Tannahill Weavers
on their album Cullen Bay. A song for Harvest.

Land of our fathers, land of our mothers
Softly wind blows though fields of gold

Down in the valley, ancestors watch me

Hail mighty Aesir, hail mighty Vanir
Keep whole our land, watch our children

Down in the valley, ancestors watch me

Sweetly the scythe sings softly by my feet
Harvesting love from our ancestors' toil
Honor their might, they gave us megin

Down in the valley, ancestors watch me

Winter will come soon, her cold hand culling
Our children must survive, keep them well-fed
Give them you bread, teach them to live

Down in the valley, I'm feeling cold
