Midwinter Song             Midwinter Song MP3 (0,7 MB)

An animal is slaughtered,
we follow the custom
and eat the meat
to honor the gods.

When the circle is made,
our force is together
and the blót will be stronger
with the blood from sacrifice.

For the sun sinks down
and rises again
and after winter
follows the spring.

Literal translation:

An animal has been slaughtered
we follow the custom
and eat the meat
to honor the gods.
When the circle has been made
our force is together
and the blót will be stronger
with the blood from the sacrificial animal.

For the sun sinks
and rises again
and after winter
follows the spring .
