Nerthus

Holy Nerthus, Terra Mater, I hail You.
You guard Your secrets wisely and well,
and to You, we owe our sustenance.
In dawnlight and in darkness I praise You,
Mother of the damp, dark earth.
I celebrate Your bounty with words and proffered wine.
I celebrate You with action and mindful contemplation
of the earth and Her resources.
I remember, Goddess, Tribal Mother,
that once Your sacred cart circumnavigated the land
as offerings were given toYour image.
I hold You in awe, Goddess.
I hail You with deepest respect.
Hail, Mighty Nerthus
