Ravenwing

Odin,
god of the English
lost for a thousand years,
by ravenwing and wolfclaw
I summon your image tonight

and I see you,
hunched by the hearth
in a cold, empty room
stirring the sullen embers
that smoulder on the grate;

skullwind shrieks and moans
as you wait, shivering,
for your far-wandering sons
to remember you and return
to your always open door.
