Thanks to Loki

I cannot know Your pain
Your young ones ripped
From Your loving arms

I cannot know Your rage
The burning pit
That grew from murder

I cannot know Your despair
The rope of Your Son
Imprisoning You in agony

I am not You
For that, I am thankful
I do not truly know Your pain
For that, I am thankful
I do not truly know Your rage
For that, I am thankful
I do not truly know Your despair
For that, I am thankful

For all Your suffering
I thank You
For all Your pain
I thank You
For all Your rage
I thank You
For all Your despair
I thank You

For the depths that You have been thrown
I thank You
From the depths that You have clawed
I thank You

You have shown the way through pain
You have shown the way through rage
You have shown the way through despair
You have shown the way from the riven path
You have shown the way from truth’s road

I thank You because it is all I can offer
To Your Pain
To Your Rage
To Your Despair
To Your Paths

I thank You because all other words, even these
Seem so small
So very small
To the ignominy heaped upon You
To the viciousness spat at You
To the ignorance of Your suffering

Hail Loki Laufeyson
Hail to the Flamehair and Indomitable Fire
Hail to You Who still loves despite
The ravages of loss
