Time Off

Soon after Thor and Loki
Had left Utgard Loki's kingdom,
Thor began to notice that he was
A little jumpy.

He was startled at every noise,
Ready to smash heads;
Thor began to feel
That he could not trust
What was a real threat or not.

Once back home at Bilskirnir,
Thor had told his wife Sif
All that had happened
To him and Loki.

Sif did notice that Thor
Looked really stressed out,
She wondered what would
Work to help him calm down.

Sif had an idea,
That they should go away for awhile,
To have some time for themselves,
And time off from bashing giant heads.

Sif knew that she would
Have to bring this idea
Before the council
Of the Aesir.

Because it would take
Her husband away
From protecting Asgard,
And the Folk in Midgard.

First Sif sat and talked to Thor.
He was not sure if he could even get away,
Though he knew that he really needed the rest,
So he thought it was a good idea.

Sif went before the council,
She explained how
Her husband Thor was feeling,
And that he needed to get
Away for awhile and rest.

After deliberating among themselves,
They had told Sif,
It will leave us a little weakened,
But we should be able
To manage while you are gone.

It was a beautiful
Mountain range
That Sif took her husband to,
There was a valley
With many trees,
And a lake.

During their stay,
They talked and laughed,
Fished and swam,
And enjoyed each other and life.

It did not take long
Before Thor became his old self,
And in time,
They made their way home.
