Valhalla Drive
Words & music: Talis Kimberley

Two wheels and a thirteen hundred engine (burning up the road)
Dear gods, but the girl knows how to ride
She hits the bend, takes the corner like a mad thing
She must have old gods on her side
Every night at the witching hour I watch her
Freeway queen of this no-place no-horse town
She's in a hurry to get someplace by moonlight
No pickup truck's gonna bring her down

Buckles on her boots and blonde hair flying'
Leather on her back bears a strange device
Lady on the gleaming beast, good hunting
Living in Valhalla Drive:

Valhalla Drive, Valhalla Drive
Never seen anyone ride like her in all my life
Valhalla Drive, Valhalla Drive
She must have the old gods on her side

Newspaper's full of bad news just like always
Young couple in a car smash six blocks down
They reckon the guy might still pull through this
He's stable now, and he might come round
His pretty little wife she took the worst hit
They reckon at least she died real fast
Some woman tried to pull her from the wreckage
But the gas tank blew and took her in the blast

Valhalla Drive, Valhalla Drive
Never seen anyone ride like her in all my life
Valhalla Drive, Valhalla Drive
She must have the old gods on her side

I always see her leave round midnight
Last night I stayed awake past three
I saw her ride home on her gleaming beast
I swear she stopped and looked at me
What could I do? She'd seen me watching
I closed the window and the blinds
I heard her kick over her gleaming beast
And ride back to Valhalla Drive

Valhalla Drive, Valhalla Drive
Never seen anyone ride like her in all my life
Valhalla Drive, Valhalla Drive
She must have the old gods on her side

Buckles on her boots and blonde hair flying'
Leather on her back bears a strange device
Lady on the gleaming beast, good hunting
Living in Valhalla Drive:

Left work late. I was waiting at the bus stop
Dear gods he's never gonna stop in time! //
...
And the blood I was lying in was mine
Then the gleaming beast was there with its rider
She said 'Come on, I'll take you home
There's a welcome for you this night in Valhalla
I'll take you there on a beast of gleaming chrome'

Valhalla Drive, Valhalla Drive
Never saw anything ride like her in all my life
Valhalla Drive, Valhalla Drive
I knew she had the old gods on her side

Valhalla Drive, Valhalla Drive
Never saw anything ride like her in all my life
Valhalla Drive, Valhalla Drive
I knew she had the old gods on her side
