Woven

Fibers does sweet Frigga spin
Of fate yet unforetold.
The Norns, who number three,
Do weave that life-length yarn
Into tumultuous tapestry.

Predestined by the strands thus wove
Are the trials that we bear.
Though are actions are our very own,
On their warp and weft we fare.

Skull weights and spear head shuttles
Are the workings of their loom.
And on it are wove our finest days,
Also each heathen’s doom!

Valor is what must be shown
If luck be sparse and spare.
For even that which is not known
With courage can be fared.
