Precarious
Will it all stop or just maintain
A fragile balance on the edge,
Like a boulder on a sloping plane,
Or resting on a chasmīs ledge ?
What will it be - an end with fright
Or fright prolonged without an end;
When, frozen in that momentīs plight
You either outcome apprehend
And wait until a featherīs weight
Brings boulder on its tumbling course
Or till a snowflake, falling light,
Unleashs the avalancheīs force.
