~ Poetry by me ~

At a Lack

How can I call you
by only one name?
For each heiti, hundreds
unspoken remain.

Your gift, it fails me
when I need it most:
My words only veil thee,
you stay undisclosed.

Yet ever you lure me,
elusive as air,
My own sound and fury
an empty affair;

My failure foregone,
all my words I would stay,
But love drives me on,
and I must obey.
