~ Poetry by me ~

Fulltrui Prayer

Odin, my Lord,
I do know who you are,
I am not even sure who I am myself;
The only thing I am sure of
Is my passion for you,
Whose depth, like yours, I cannot fathom,
but which draws me and drives me nonetheless.

I do not know whether you called me,
But I believe my burning desire to know you, to live for you,
draws your attention like tinder draws fire,
And I wish to live that desire in all that I do, and am.

I cannot see the road before me, but I know it leads to you,
and I will walk it one step at a time.
As you gave away one of your eyes for wisdom,
So I will turn a blind eye to doubt,
For the only thing that matters to me
Is that you accept my sacrifice, whatever comes after.

There may come times when I feel I fail
in my own eyes and the eyes of the world,
And I do not know whether I am worthy
To even try to follow you,
But still, I will do so, always, and by whatever means I can.
I am willing to risk everything, even though it be in vain,
For I must live my love for you, or be already dead.

Therefore I will trust that you, All-seeing One,
See my sacrifice, and accept it;
I trust you to be yourself,
And I will trust you when there is nothing else to trust in, not even myself.

When I am walking lost among shadows,
I shall not fear, for you are ever with me, before me, and in me,
In my ecstasy as well as in my suffering and death;
And I will never be without you, whether I feel you or not,
For there is no place in the worlds where you are not.
