Home Blessing           Home Blessing MP3

Gods bless the corners of this house
And be the lintel blest,
And bless the hearth, and bless the board,
And bless each place of rest.

And bless the door that opens wide
To stranger as to kin,
And bless each crystal windowpane
That lets the starlight in.

And bless the rooftree overhead
And every sturdy wall,
The frith of man, the frith of Gods,
The frith of joy on all.

Traditional Irish blessing
Slightly adapted, and tune, by Michaela Macha

Alternative Tune: "God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen",

Chorus:

May the Gods bless your home,
May you always safely roam,
May the Aesir and Vanir
All be here, all be near,
May the Aesir and the Vanir all be here.
