Song for Thrud
Strong you are,
Daughter of Thor,
Strong of arm and stout of heart.
Robustly, you meet life head-on,
Not hesitating to do the work at hand.
Strong you are, Daughter of Sif.
Yours is the solidness and grace of a grain field.
Vibrant with possibilities, you unfold your potential;
Alvis' desire, a heart without you turns to stone.
Strong you are, Granddaughter of Odin.
Brawn and brains both are your birthright,
Boldness to act, and wit to wait for the right moment;
Brave and dashing, you are a whirlwind of action.
Strong you are, Granddaughter of Frigga.
Yours is the strength that comes from within,
Which is sure of itself, and considers all sides
With water´s patience and wisdom.
Strong you are, Sister of Magni and Modi,
In thoughts and words, in mind and manner.
Einherjars´ ale-bearer, strength honoring strength,
Teach us to find our own,
o daughter of your father.
