Midwinter

De aarde slaapt, de aarde wacht,
maar in de stilte van de nacht,
jaagt de Wilde Jacht.

Donker de dagen,
leeg het land,
bladerloos de bomen,
verlaten het strand.

Langzaam komt licht
weer tot leven,
lengen de dagen,
overwint de zon.

Midwinter

The earth asleep, the earth on hold,
but in the stillness of night's cold,
wanders the Wild Hunt so bold.

Dark and dreary days,
lonesome land,
leaveless trees,
deserted sea and sand.

Slowly light
returns to life,
longer each day:
the sun will survive!
