A New Life

I had a voice but was silent,
A mere shadow in a world of light.
I existed but had no meaning,
I lived without having a life.

Then the Gods took a hold of me,
Wrung out from me my self pity,
Placed my feet on a new path,
Gave conviction to my words.

They gave me strength to displace my weakness,
Purpose for a life gone astray.
Wisdom replaced my rashness,
Love filled an empty heart.

I see beauty where I once saw ugliness,
Hope has replaced years of apathy.
I am no longer the person I once was,
I am now what the Gods have made me.
