Bare Neck
Wolf
In perfect love and perfect trust
I bare my neck to life
Running in the pack
Striding wild and free
I shed my clothes on forest floor
dancing circles round
a mountain of fire
Drums banging my blood to boil
Songs in howls
Prayers in growls
to one-eyed god of feral ecstasy
Raging against the poisoning
of the Earth
Raging against the shackling
of human wildness
Donning wolfskin
soul melting itself into it
Smelling the savage
and safety of the pack
Fighting old wolves and
teaching pups to shift
into their true selves
to bare their necks to life
