Dark Places
Woden, You are in all the dark places
I so desperately seek to hide.
You have traced each of my scars within
and cherish them.
You have seduced me, Terrible One
And willingly, I allow You to steal my breath,
replacing it instead with nine drops of sacred mead
bestowed by kiss upon parched lips:
Ecstasy, madness, inspiration
Truth, terror, shattering beauty,
Sacrifice, longing and need.
I do not fear You,
not even when You burn beneath my skin,
when we share the cloak of flesh together.
Instead, I will glory in You,
I will celebrate the fury You bring,
I will feast on wod, as on finest wine.
