Gna: Great Messenger Goddess

Great Gna, our beautiful errand Goddess,
Your messages held tight there in your bodice.
You ride on a horse that takes to flight,
Carrying urgent tidings Frigga does write.

Once a Vanir who saw her up in the air,
Asked in verse, "What is flying over there?"
Gna answered, "I travel and move through the sky,
But you are mistaken, I do not fly. "

Hamskerpir and Gardofa sired this foal,
To run over the sea and air is it's role.
It's name is Hofvarpnir, a horse of delight,
It means Hoof - Thrower, it's name is just right.

Gna is listed fourteenth and last on Snorri's list.
This ranking of Goddesses shouldn't exist !
You are not a "Minor Goddess", no not at all,
But a wonderful Goddess who's image stands tall !
