Hermod
I hail You, Hermod, for Your bravery.
Hermod, I want to be like You.
I do not wish to fear the dark places within my soul
or to shy away from
understanding.
You went riding into Hel to save Your brother;
did You know then
that You were saving Yourself as well?
You are God of unexpected catalysts,
of
journeys and the battle we fight within.
I, too, would mount the spirit steed
that
would carry me to the places of power and change.
Will You ride with me,
Hermod?
Will You protect me from myself
As I ride the path to heaven?
The loneliness held no terror for You;
Teach me, silent One, to be staunch in my
journey.
Let my heart not be turned from this path
by the vagaries and fears of
my own spirit.
Let me journey, as You did so long ago, firm and bold,
as I hold my
hand unwavering up to heaven.
