On the Battlefield

I am there,
Pushing, clawing,
Driving my spear into an enemy

Valkyries come,
In a cloudy mist,
Picking one after another

Warriors, fierce, in worn cloth,
Go to their final rest,
In Valhalla’s halls they will stay

Sweat and blood fill my eyes,
And just when I think it is done,
Out of the corner of my eye

I see my strand, cut,
I die….a soft hand picks me up,
I lie across her saddle and ride

And when I arrive
In that warriors´ place,
All of the fallen are there, we embrace

In slumber our might
Will grow and mend,
The final battle comes for all men.
