Touched by the Gods
Open yourself to the encounter -
it comes in many guises,
a tender touch, a whisper,
a firm grasp that lifts you,
a chance meeting out of the blue,
a rolling-over that topples you,
a drifting that embraces you.
Open yourself to the encounter,
it comes at incongrous times,
whether under the shower in the morning,
while praying in the evening,
on your way to work,
while you meditate in the park
or write a poem.
Each encounter is precious,
a revelation each time,
a moment, an eternity,
each touch is unique,
however it comes,
whatever happens,
they are our Gods, they mean us well.
