The Wheel is Turning
I look over battle
And see the spokes spinning
The wheel is turning
The years pass me by
I remember the old days
Quite a few years ago
My thoughts circle to then
And my mind can't let go
Smiling out in that sunlight
Breathing air from the trees
Hear birds by the river!
See the flow of the leaves!
Watch, as it all changes.
The sky turns to grey
The leaves change their colors
The birds fly away
Friends leaving my life
Cold gripping the air
The sun is now setting
Towards the heavens I stare
The wheel is turning
The years pass me by
The world's spinning 'round
The sun crosses sky
My mind is now slipping
My vision now fades
That was so long ago
My soul rides away
Upon a white horse
of eight-legged breed
Carried off to Valhalla
Upon Odin's steed
The wheel is turning
The years pass me by
The world spins around
The sun crosses sky
The cycle keeps going
Till the end of it all
When battle horns blare
And the stars start to fall
And I'm called back to battle
Into Ragnarok's fray
I'll fight at the end
Upon that last day
Order and chaos
At war once again
This battle will rage
Both destroyed at the end
The wheel is turning
The years pass us by
The world spins around
The sun crosses sky
The end will come soon
For you and for me
So let us all hang
Upon the World Tree
