Wyrd Weaver, Doom Crier Am I...

Striving against the current,
swimming onward ever onward,
even as it batters-
Lifting you in its frothy embrace,
pushing back with each thrust
as you bravely plow ahead-

The sun shines brightly,
the world is ever still,
waiting to see who it is
that will conquer-
Who it is that will ascend,
reaching the prize
that awaits at the end.

Are you forthright?
Have you the spirit?
Will you continue against the odds?
Have you the will to seek,
to go forth in the quest eternal-
The quest for knowledge
That can only be granted
Should your heart beat ever steady,
willing to go the distance,
able to throw itself against any obstacle
which has been set before it-

Are you honest?
Do you see with the eyes of faith?
Do you watch the world around you,
seing the images of what is,
what can be,if you set yourself free-

Dance the will into being,
mold the world with your mind
not simply your hand,
do not crush the world beneath your feet
as you pass by-
Cultivate gather, grow, become-

What is it you offer?
Do you welcome the world?
Do you give of your hearth?
Your heart?
Your very home?
Do you choose solitude most often,
is it your nature to be alone?

Solitude may nurture you from within,
giving what others may never offer,
a balm for the heart,
free from platitudes, obligations,
devoid of sweetly phrased words
said overly much-
How many times can you listen to such?

But guard yourself from others too often,
then all you create for yourself
is the life of one who lives
as though already dead,
buried in his or her own coffin.

Open your heart,
rejoice, welcome love-
Give of yourself, find your link
With Man here in Midgard
As with the Gods in Asgard above-
Embody the very essence of fidelity,
become desire, ecstasy, love-

Call out the name
That beats deep within your breast-
Thor, Odin, Frigga, Baldr, Freyja, Freyr,
Heimdall, Njord, Tyr, Idunna, Sif, Saga, Vara-

Call to the Earth,
Call to the Ancestors-
Call to those who are yet to be-
Call out your passion-
Call to your fate-
Call to your Doom-
Own it-
Become it-
Weave your destiny-

Striving against the current,
swimming onward ever onward,
even as it batters-
Lifting you in its frothy embrace,
pushing back with each thrust
as you bravely plow ahead-

Dance the will into being,
mold the world with your mind
not simply your hand,
do not crush the world beneath your feet
as you pass by-
Cultivate gather, grow, become-
