~ Poetry by me ~

Fair Mani is Ascending         Fair Mani is Ascending MP3

Fair Mani is ascending,
his shining rays he´s sending
to Midgard fast asleep.
The forest lies in shadows,
and from the silent meadows
white mists are rising from the deep.

All hushed now wood and thickets,
save for the chirping crickets
and hooting owl nearby.
We´re resting now and listening,
the golden stars are glistening
above us in the endless sky.

In this and every night
the Gods at our side
keep faith with us again.
The midnight wind is blowing,
and round the campfire glowing
at peace are woman, child and man.

Soon sleep will make us whole,
rest body, mind and soul
with sweet and pleasant dreams.
We´re in the Aesirs' keep,
so let´s now safely sleep
till we awake to Sunna´s beams.
