Hedeby Fair                           Tune & original lyrics: Scarborough Fair (traditional)
                                                        Hedeby Fair MP3
Are you going to Hedeby Fair?         Read Hedeby Fair (2) by Nick Ford
Asgard, Midgard, Vanaheim
Remember me to one who lives there,
he once was a true love of mine.

Tell him to steer a ship to my shore,
Asgard, Midgard, Vanaheim
without setting sails, or grasping an oar,
or never be a true love of mine.

Tell him to brew me a barrel of mead
Asgard, Midgard, Vanaheim
without any honey or juice that is sweet,
or never be a true love of mine.

Tell him to craft me a ring all of gold
Asgard, Midgard, Vanaheim
with a hammer of cloth and a forge that is cold
and then heŽll be a true love of mine.

Tell him to sing me a skaldic rhyme
Asgard, Midgard, Vanaheim
without one kenning, stanza or line,
and then heŽll be a true love of mine.

And when heŽs gone and done all of this,
Asgard, Midgard, Vanaheim
IŽll wear his gold ring, and give him a kiss,
and then heŽll be a true love of mine.

Are you going to Hedeby Fair?
Asgard, Midgard, Vanaheim
Remember me to one who lives there,
he once was a true love of mine.
