~ Poetry by me ~

Prayer to Yggdrasil´s Rider

Rider of Yggdrasil, help me to bear my suffering.
As you hung nine nights on the Tree, wounded and thirsting,
let me bear my fate and my hardships, and grow wiser from them.
The Tree that bears us is giving both Death and Life.
Let me grasp this mystery.
Let me be patient, and let me not despair,
for you have gone through this, and more, before me.
You know how it feels.
This is my own ordeal.
Stand with me in my heart and my soul, High One,
through the dark nights,
until I grasp the Runes of Life again, as you did,
and I grow healthy and whole and wise.
